This is a cleverly designed close-up trick consisting of a combination of mental and penetration effects.

The magician shows five discs, fronts coloured, backs neutral silver. The discs are turned with the coloured side down and shuffled. The spectator chooses one of the discs, the magician does not know the colour! The discs are mixed up again by the spectator. Then all the discs are put into a tin with the coloured side down. Now a string is pulled through the tin and the discs. Thus all the discs and the tin are strung. After a magical gesture, the magician opens the tin.

Four discs are still on the string, only the disc freely chosen by the spectator has freed itself and falls out of the can! Immediately everything can be examined.
