A guillotine that you can give out of your hand and which the audience can examine to their heart's content! You will not find a preparation because there is simply no one!

What happens: You show a small guillotine and a "knife" which is similar to a letter opener. In the guillotine there are four finger-thick, circular openings at the top, and a smaller one underneath, in which e.g. a cigarette (pretzel stick etc) fits. If you now insert the knife across the housing, it will protrude from the left and right side of the housing. If you move the knife downwards, you can see this movement through the openings and also laterally, where the knife protrudes.
If you put something into the openings, it will of course be cut when the knife is pushed down!
You can demonstrate this immediately by placing a pretzel stick or cigarette, for example, in the upper and lower openings. The knife is pressed down and the cigarette or pretzel stick is cut.

In the course of a funny story, which we do not want to give away here yet, you ask a spectator to put four fingers through the upper openings, into the lower hole a cigarette comes again.

The knife is pressed down, the fingers.... remain intact while the cigarette is cut up! Of course the knife protrudes left and right from the casing!

Immediately pull the knife out of the guillotine and have everything examined!
